A Seussical Observation

A Seussical Observation:

A waste-filled vat
toxic level nineteen
seeps into, infecting
a nearby stream

"My purity is spoiled!
My diversity decreased!
For who can thrive
with radioactive beasts?"

“There's something amiss in this topsy-turvy world”, says the stream.

Frost-bitten lichen
a leprous disease
grows expansively, hungrily
on a benevolent tree

"I provide oxygen
proclaiming Nature's grace.
This undeserved misery
is unjustly placed!"

“There's something amiss in this topsy-turvy world”, says the tree.

Focused sunlight burns
laser beams of pain
searing ants
beneath a bemused gaze

"This lens should be observing
our great work ethic,
but children take advantage
of those they view pathetic."

“There's something amiss in this topsy-turvy world”, says the ant.

...and I never figured out how to end this poem!!!
