who?

Who?

It's Haunting when I think-
of all the people you could be,
someone rich and famous,
who lives a life of ease.

Someone who lives in boxes,
who digs through the trash for food.
I sit here and I wonder,
if one of these are you?

Were you beaten up as a child?
were you hurt by your own dad?
was your mother so abusive
in chains your heart is clad?

Or..are you the manipulator?
who always has to have his way.
and when you do not get it-
It's all the other lives that pay.

I sit here and I wonder,
though I've only known you for a while,
you've never spoken about yourself,
or of when you were a child.

You seem to hide out in your corner
and never let others near,
sometimes I think about this
then my heart begins to fear.

As a child were you molested?
am I getting kinda close?
when I think of this kind of person
I think of the "wilted rose".

That flower that has been battered,
have they left you in the streets?
have they let the world trample you?
is your heart beginning to slow it's beat?

Are you one who's heart is broken?
and completely full of pain?
even though the sun is out,
your life is filled with rain?

And no one can understand you-
or feel your hidden shame?
and you dare not tell a soul,
that your smiles are all in vain?

-----------

See what happens when-
you don't let your feelings out?
and tell the One who loves you
what your life is all about?

It's Haunting when I think-
of all the people you could be.
I will always have that Question,
If you walk away from me.

But I barely even know you
and since you barely know me too.
I have one tiny thing to say
this thing is just for you.

Please listen to me closely
and you don't owe me a thing.
sometimes God sends us Angels
In our hearts his words do ring.

To remind us of how much He loves us,
no matter what we've been through.
and these words, these words alone
are His words just for you...

..."You are My Bright, Fresh and Wonderful Rose
and you always will be too."

who? "...You!"

care

I think this is your best poem yet Dave. Whether or not your close to the truth, at least you care enough to wonder.

"I don't care about your scale,
or how high I weigh in.
I can be as light as a feather,
but I'm damn good with a pen."
~ SheaRyhai (c) 2009

thank you...

It was entirely inspired by your poem. If I can keep this fire going, I think I might have enough poems to publish by august. lol
If you, The artists of this web site will continue to inspire me as they and you have shea, I will continue to do the same for you and them.

"a stopped train is hard to get moving,
and a speeding train is harder to stop."
"stay out of the way when the tracks are oiled,
or there will be a very big pileup."

see, I just made that up.

I think I'll post it.

fast track

"The fast track is always a means to disaster,
no track of live ever runs that smooth.
And those that accomplish most things faster,
have never had to strugle for something to prove."

P.S. I have written of my child hood. "Lost Words"

"I don't care about your scale,
or how high I weigh in.
I can be as light as a feather,
but I'm damn good with a pen."
