"aw the audacity"
Enjoy....post #5
Not a poem, but prose. A nice little story... and "Irony" ...of mans greatness and idiocy all in one.
"One day I began to think of all the material things that man has created, (basically all from the dust of the earth, when you think about it) Cars, computers, building structures, gadgets, etc. etc. and this little gem of a poem came into my heart. I think it may stir some thought.
__________
Look, Look what we have made.
We have built our high and strong towers.
made from the strongest materials.
All created from the dust of the ground beneath our feet.
Man has turned the earth into metals, plastics, glass, steel, rubber and all kinds of other wonderful materials.
These massive structures that We have crafted
and engineered into existence dictate mans
awesome and impressive ability to create.
__________
But to mention a greater one? one who just might have actually, possibly, maybe created mankind?
"how absurd! aw the audacity of one to make such a statement."
"where is the proof?".... you say.
__________
Mans automobiles have raced to and fro around the globe
taking us to any place in which we might have any desire to go...
...short distances of course.
If we have a desire to go across the oceans and seas to other lands, all we have to do is just hop into one of our huge 650 ton, very carefully engineered hunks of steel and fly. "The An-225 is quoted as having a maximum take off weight of over 1.3 million pounds" (600,000 kg)
"fly?" yeah! You heard me right.
Man in all of his greatness and creative ingenuity has figured out how to get a huge 650 ton hunk of steel off of the ground, into the air..
...and safely I might add...
...Or. If one wanted to, he (or she) could hop onto an even larger 150,000 ton hunk of steel that floats on water and go across the oceans and seas that way.
"floats on water?" yep! you heard me right again.
__________
But to mention a greater one?
one who just might have actually, possibly, maybe created mankind?
"How absurd! aw the audacity of one to make such a statement."
"where is the proof?"... you say.
__________
We have created our inventions to make everything in life a little easier for us. From the vacuum cleaner to pull the dirt from our carpets to the refrigerator which keeps our food safe to eat, from the lawn mower to cut our grass in the yard that we have purchased with our money that we worked so hard for at our
jobs that we have created for ourselves. To the ovens and microwave machines in our kitchens which cook our food.....
on and on we can go...
...our computers, oh those great, great creations. to see and communicate with someone from the other side of the world in an instant of time. Simply amazing!
__________
but to mention a greater one?
One who just might have actually, possibly, maybe created mankind? how absurd! aw the audacity of one to make such a statement.
where is the proof you say?
"The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God."
We are the proof!.... fool.

aw
That's another crushing blog,we live in our material worlds oblivious to The One who gave man the skill to invent it all.Perhaps the Africans have got it right, content with the fact that they are still alive and praising God for it.I reckon your poems deserve a wider audience and I have just the place.Have a look at http://bibleforums.net/forum/index.php and find the poetry section, you would be made most welcome.I added some more to the comments on Berkisi, hope you find it.
Thank you very much Mike
