I Knew
And for one giddy moment -
The sun shone, and the wind blew
And I danced,
And I felt joy too,
And I knew..
I knew nothing of the all cool blue that was you
Of the red that controlled you,
As the first fist flew,
Of the pain - the stain on my pillow again.
This wound I cling onto - it is all new,
Its bruised face hidden: so as not to upset you.
I was willing to protect you,
But I knew that we were through,
I knew.

Strong write indeed
And harrowing, the second stanza is amazing Debs, the line "Of the red that controlled you" is unnerving.
Strong piece,
Dave
Thanks,
Not the easiest subject to write about, but cathartic just the same,
Appreciate your words Dave.

This poem says everything in one little neat package...PERFECTLY!
What a smart woman you were, and ARE for realizing what you needed to do.
(I don't pretend to know what you went through but I can clearly see and hear (thru your writing) that you are happy now!!!)
You write from your heart Debs in everything! i love reading you.
take care

I'm getting there! :.)

strong write
Wow, Debs, I think this is one your strongest ones yet. It has echos of Sylvia in it and is as emotive as it is unsettling; however, knowing a bit about what you've been through, I can imagine this is therapeutic for you, and I'm glad you seem to be in a better place now. Be well and thank you for sharing this here with us.

Thanks, Neo,
I'm not great at sharing Personal stuff,
but it felt good to do so, and like you say, so therapeutic.
Thanks again, friend
always appreciate your time.
