Back To Black

They’re becoming the same -
Grief and I
Terribly immersed in each other
Terribly enraged
Like a black, fat, river hog
A scream that never stops
And I am useless and dull
Trembling
Seconds away,
From my coffin-like calm
While the day outside slides by
Life continues and I murmur

“I can assure you all I’m fine”

I found this a sad write, like a depression creeping up to capture you. You know it's coming and people around you can see somethings not quite right, but you deny anythings wrong.
As normal, I've most likely read it all wrong and it's about something really happy!Lol.
Descriptive piece,
Dave

Spot On!

You've got this, exactly right Dave,
Spot on!

Depression is not always easy to admit too/understand,
Far easier to 'don your happy face' conceal it.

Thanks for the encouraging feedback freind.

Yeah, I think I know what you're getting at with this. Having to put on a strong face when you're hurting inside. Not an easy thing to do. As David said, a very descriptive write.

"Like a black, fat, river hog"

Definitely a proper metaphor for it. I do hope you're in a better place now.

Kind Thanks

Thanks as always Neo, for your words,

I'm far from these days of depression now, thank goodness!
and its easier to write about them as a result, and free up old ghosts.

Its good to see...

the reality at the tip of out fingers... it may be scary but in time we learn to accept.
moreover... so good to read you poems... again..

Hello Debs!
its claire reading again...

Claire,

It's so nice to hear from you again,

I believe that's true. We do learn to accept our losses, and become stronger people as a result.

Thanks for dropping by freind,

Debs ~
