Am I blessed ....
they say it's oft times a case of having a gift
that water would flow wherever I should ask it
and earth should tremble forth when told
if the air arises as I raise these hands in words unspoken
or fire is the flame that plays out upon my orchestration

These I possess as second nature and yet ....
such a thing is power to command that if I demand
who would dare deny the will of my vision
having crushed armies and destroyed cities whole
precious little does not bow to this decree
and still I hunger ....

This empty place I find within
filled not with peace and tranquility
is a something that weighs more than anything
I could value
material or otherwise ....

Everything conforms so easily
my will makes minions of souls
while desire makes me a prisoner
and there's a myriad of halls existing inside my mind
each one seems to tantalisingly draw me closer to she
and then like as before everyone leads the fruitless chase
and it's once more I close another door
upon wastelands of barren desolation

I would settle to raze this world to a cinder shard
if only you'd return and bring forth all that lies lost and alone
abandoned by mostly all
I cling with avid hunger surging to the fore
that there's a path
a way to lead me back
to bridge the years gone dwindling down
when you lay softly sweet in tendermost pride
I wrapt you silken with strands of satin seduction
a cocoon sheltered from the bustle of toiling agonies outside
but you insisted there was more to be done
your time yet precious to me was more valued with others in need
and I released the evidence of my humanity
when she stepped beyond these doors
taking any vestige that I share the fate god deems mine
for there is nothing that exists to my compassion by earthly means
no heart that stirs above the tone of her own
and without I am reduced to be melted down to ....
the coldness of tempered steel a stone
neither to feel
nor be reduced to ....
comprehend any stain of compassion
I am apart from godliness
without gratitude
of grace
in form
or function
