Bad and Good Poetry
Bad and Good Poetry
I read some poetry last night
It was supposed to be good stuff
Somebody won somebody’s award
Pretentious shit
I wasn’t impressed
Where is that thing, I wondered,
That takes away comfort
Troubles something like the soul
Breathes within the breath
Self existent melody
Where is the perfect thing
Formed within its own matrix
Not created, but discovered
It outgrows the space inside of one
Comes to rest in the bosom of many
A thing so delicate,
If I accidentally breathe upon it, I kill it
If I touch it, grasp it, I crush it.
spirit to spirit
I can tolerate nothing less

~The 8th Wonder of the World~
RWR,
Great poetry should be the 8th Wonder of the World, it defines what cannot be expressed in any other art form; it sustains time.
You have masterfully expressed every poet's desire, to capture the spirit of moments in mere words.
There are moments of greatness in this poem. It is a pleasure to meet you.
Warm regards,

Thank you Kathy,
I must confess I am a bit taken aback at the response to my work. I think what is most gratifying is that people - like you - actually "get" this poem. Thank you for "getting it", for "getting" me.
God's Peace,
