My Fear
When at night, I turn out the lights
I do not tremble with childish fright
When angry people make their empty threats
Not even for a moment, do I begin to sweat
Because it's not these things that cause me concern
Instead it's the things that might never return
So I guess it is loss that I fear the most
The fear of you leaving and never again being close
So when you turn to say your good-bye
Just ignore that tear in my eye
For it is nothing more than a little fear
The fear that one day you might disappear
So yes, you can turn out the lights
And you can yell at me with all your might
But please don't leave, promise me you'll stay
For that is the only way for my fear to go away
