Of me to say …
or has lack of interest become
the stand in and the
stage has called
for a replacement?
of me to say.
of enjoyment while together
been forgotten or
did uncomfortable time apart
find its way in?
of me to say.
and just “being”
will never be forgotten
yet times of yesterday are gone
and today is our reality.
of me to say.

awkward
I know what you mean, Ron, time changes so much. Ten or fifteen or twenty years ago was another lifetime. Good write.
Yeah 4 sure
I met up with a past lover of mine, and there was certainly the aire of awkwardness. At the point in my life I thought she was "the one" for me, oh well. Time certainly has a way of changing things.
Thanks Neo for the read and comment.

interesting
When I read this I was thinking it was about a long term relationship. Funny how we read something and bring our own interpretation. Sad poem. raskin
And so it goes ...
this is the beauty of poetry, we all can read and apply it to ourselves and each of us be right in the interpretation. Oh I was madly in love with her, but she made some bad choices in her life and we separated. That happened 8 years ago and we happened to cross paths. What once was sooooooo comfortable had become awkward. Thanks Raskin for reading and commenting

This is..
..kind of a sad write BUT yet so true lol..I can relate to that one as well. Awkward moments like this make me laugh for some reason and escape to a bar real quick that's my solution for those kind of situations lol (I know, very creative isn't it? hehe) Great write Ron!!

I use to do the same thing
but all I got was" Love on the Rocks" :) thanks Soni for reading and commenting

"a romance sour"
she invited me to be with her
seems so long ago
the promise of great times and fun
tattooed on her fresco
she had friends with names of color
green, silver, red and blue
soon I found that being with them
my life became a zoo
at first she wooed me thru the night
whispering in my ear
“take me home tonight my dear”
her stare became a leer
it wasn’t long night turned into day
she was always at my side
not matter how I tried to ‘scape
there was nowhere left to hide
my mistress soon did want me dead
drowning in my despair
i feared the end was all to near
in hope of no repair
i wish i knew what day it was
that night at happy hour
i merely asked just for a drink
but served “a romance sour”

I think this is one of your
strongest poems. The alcohol as a lover once good then things change and become ugly. To read it initially it sounds like a love gone wrong and then at the end it is ahh ha. Talking about the drinking culture. I'd have to say this is still one of my favorites of yours. raskin
Yes it was
my lover, my mistress , my gate keeper of the hell I was living in. Thank you Raskin for your kind words

Ohh..
..and I'm making laim ass jokes here Ron. I didn't mean to be disrespectful...give me like 2 wine spritzers and I'm holding on to a wall (for real). This is also such a good write. I always seem to learn from you and I like that! :-) Thanks for sharing this!
Soni
