Free me from self
A bell tolls,
for the hour of discontent
has arrived.
The town crier
sorrowfully wails
the lament of agitation.
Irritability reigns
over all,
frustration is its companion.
Serenity is forsaken
in refusal to accept that
which can’t be changed.
Stagnation infests
for nothing
will be changed.
Wisdom is fleeting
for there
is no understanding.
Free me from self ……….

"Wisdom is fleeting
for there
is no understanding"
I like this stanza best. It always seems that once we think we understand a concept, something else comes along and shatters that understanding. So maybe there is no true understanding or answers, just temporary theories. Intriguing write, Ron. It could be analyzed in many ways.
Hey Neo
I was at unrest with myself last night after the days events and I wanted to describe how I was feeling with all the inner turmoil going on inside me. I sat outside on my patio and was not comfortable in my skin and wish to be freed from self. I meditated and prayed and wrote this down. It helped tremendously ..... Thanks dude for reading and commenting

~Wailing Wall~
Ron,
I have never been to the Wailing Wall in the Holy Land, but I love the image of people crying at a wall. Tears flowing down a wall, tears for each other, tears of joy, tears of anger, tears of loss. A simple tear means so much to our humanity. We will never be free from ourselves, this is our humanity.
I liked the passion of this piece. You have captured the essence of feeling trapped in your humanity.
Warm regards,
Kathy
Trapped
Yes there are certainly times when I feel trapped within myself and wishing to have the ability to break free from that which binds me. Those are the times when I am not comfortable in my skin :( thanks Kathy for reading and commenting
