These lovers sit across from me
they begin to argue
before long it is a full on screaming match
I tried to ignore them at first
but then the voyeur in me became curious
though I dare not pay attention to their words
something’s are private
and I just didn’t want to know
They stand up
louder and louder
She slaps him
he grabs her arms
the yelling doesn’t stop
then out of no where
she kisses him
He screams some more
then his anger seems to subside
he kisses her
“Forever and ever”
they whisper
the only words I heard
they settle down
finish their meal
and I am left alone
bewildered
by human behavior
