New to this site
This is my first post on this site. I was referred here by a friend, Joseph A. Sanchez. This site looks amazing and I would love to participate. I am going to throw up some of my favorite poems from my books "A hero's dream" and "Conversations in secret". Please make any comment you like. I can handle critiques and love to hear what others think i will try to do the same.
What I Believe
I don’t believe in a cruel God
I don’t think God sits on a cloud
judging and smiting as he
sees fit
I don’t believe in a God who
prefers one race
or one religion
over another
There are no chosen people
God is not a bigot
We are all loved
all cherished limitlessly
by God
I do believe God has a physical form
But not some old man with a white beard
and a ruffled brow
no I believe God’s form
is existence
the universe and everything in it
When God chose to express himself
physically
That was our inception as a reality
with that in mind
All life is an expression of God
All animals plants bugs and people
are a part of God
and when you disrespect them
you disrespect God
I believe in the human soul
I believe that soul
is the very breath of life
within us
and is God within us
Our soul is God
ever present within us
our conscious
the small still voice
in heads
guiding us
reminding us
that we are inherently
divine
Perfect
There is no hell
not in my opinion
God is love
and no loving parent
would allow their child
to burn for all eternity
that would be cruel
and God is never cruel
Just but not cruel
I believe in a God
who gives us
an infinite number of chances
to correct our mistakes
but also holds us accountable
If we wrong someone
We will be wronged
balance will always be achieved
and justice will be found
For every cause
there is an effect
so if you want life to be kind
be kind to others
If you want people to love you
love them
And don’t seek vengeance
Those that hurt you
will suffer just as much as you did
all in good time
Plotting against them
and causing them pain
will only cause you to suffer more
God is perfect
God is love
God is all things
You are the embodiment of God

Welcome to the Showcase
My first suggestion is delete what you just posted, and repost one poem at a time, maybe even just one a day. That way you will give everyone a chance to read them and make a comment. Posting more will overwhelm the reader. There are many poets and many poems :)
