Momentary ascenion
He laid his head
upon a pillow which
was softer than before
his body was still but not his mind
Always trying to answer
seemingly immortal questions
that plagued him
His eyes grew heavy
tired from a hard days work
then his thoughts slowed
until his mind went truly blank
then like watching himself dream
he saw himself standing
on a beach
wind blowing through his hair
then he outstretched his arms
and the wind blew harder
the trees were swaying
but to his amazement
he himself
was unmoved
then his very skin
began to flake away
but there was no flesh beneath
just fluorescent light
his whole body glowed
with a luminescence
unlike he had ever seen
when his eyes opened
he felt as if the questions
had ceased
and he knew
something unexplainable
lived within him
he was more than
he had thought possible
