THE EXTRAS OF SPRING

THE EXTRAS OF SPRING

When winter’s cool breezes depart into spring,
The birds in the trees sing a song
Of very good cheer and to all of us bring
Invitations to sing right along.

As the buds in the trees make a cloud of snow white,
Inducing the robins to sing,
Then grandly our hearts overfill with delight
To spring’s ever luster us bring.

As the leaves on the ground start their dancing around
By the urging not gentle by wind,
That still has a bite not induced to excite
Nor with urges for winter to end.

But still it’s a start to cold winter depart
And to leave us to better enjoy
The coming of summer and joyfully start
An effort nonstopping to winter destroy.
