The broken girl-randomn snippet of a short story i wrote
Trust like a child and brake like glass
As her childhood smashed into pieces
Seeing all her confidence peering back
Broken beneath her feet
Her self image blurred with disgrace as her eyes well up, her tear ducts erupt, like volcanoes coughing out mummers and whimpers of despair. The sooty mascara runs down her face, blackening the entire landscape until it drops off the end of her nose, forming a dark puddle, visible to her misguided vision. A poignant glimpse reflects back, confirming her worst nightmares that she has become the disjointed being that she promised herself she would always resist. So determined to stay strong and not succumb to the crumbling mess that her life’s become. Realising she has lost all control and the terrors of love have defeated her beautifully fragile heart, she sinks to a slouch position quickly losing her feminine elegance, creased up like a submissive folded overcoat she slumps into the posture of failure. Staring down she watches her tears accumulate, desperately seeking a hug and some affection, a friend to share her pain, but it is all in vain. Alone she sits wrapped up in a blanket, leaning up against a cold painted wall with her legs crossed in a mix of anger and frustration. In a sudden release of tension she throws her head back to the sound of a thud. A sub conscious attempt to remind herself that she is alive and present, living within the cruel world that tantalises her very being. She shrugs off the impact barely noticing any pain as she is overcome by her own emotional torture. Briefly she stares up hoping for some divine intervention, tightly squinting her eyes imagining her self in a better place receiving the loving attention she so deserves. Quickly realising it’s useless she brings her head down on her lap and continues to whimper soaking in the embrace of her own knees. Neglected by human kind, she desperately tries to find a warm embrace from her own body heat.
