Overhead, the sky shows a vast light blue
In the distance the darkness lurks
But it’s the light you pursue
A dark cloud spoils the horizon
Drifting across with the wind
Threatening all your fun
You try to stride away
From the clouds shadow, away you creep
Leading oneself down a path
Far away from anything resembling this world
Drowning in your own bloodbath
Often crippled by another let down
Another low blow
A swipe, a back stab, a cruel joke
Time after time,
Things don’t come together
A permanent down stroke
Intentions lead round in circles
Trying to climb to a summit
In the way – stand two last hurdles
Fear blinds your cautious mind
Reflections flash and distract
The peak is vague but visible

Finally arriving at a gate
An unseen presence
The ruling judge awaits
Shocked into reality
Stunned into submission
Like Deer caught in headlights
Startled, panicking
Not knowing how to react
The sweat becomes drenching
The explanation escapes you
Babbling and slurring
Face reddening up
Your neck is straining
From thin air arrives an excuse
Not giving too many clues
Partially exposing your sacred virtues

Your world, your eyes and your mind
A different view
A higher set of values,
Held close to the heart
Looked upon in amuse
Priceless at every level
Walked over and ridiculed
Expected to crawl and grovel
Mainline society, clueless
Body thrown face down in disgust
A social doormat
Feet wiped
Dirt trodden in
Grazed and bruised
Damaged skin
Squinting eyes, corrupt ears
Unsure
Misjudged by all his peers
Mistranslating what they hear and see,
Not knowing or wanting
Hatred of which drifts from the norm
Absorbent to all their spiting
Branded as cattle
He buries his mind in writing
So much more to give
Than the life he has to live
