**MY MORNING**
*************************
The light spills over the crispy grass,
plants stand like frozen beauty.
Birds and their song lift my heart to the sky.
A moment for me before the rest rise from their slumber,
The cold breath of nature, a detox for my soul,
I squint as the sun swims higher into its ocean of blue,
wiping out shadows and beckoning critters to the call of day.
Here in the garden, surrounded by last summers dead roses,
just me and the morning I love so much.
I say a little prayer, thank God for this new day,
letting me witness time in action and giving me sight to these treasures.
Clink clink, I hear teacups and smell brown soda bread,
There she is, my mum, baking again, preparing the table with butter and jam.
Taps upstairs are running, faces getting washed, noise takes over.
The thrills and spills of siblings.
Then down she comes, my pride and love,
Rahma with her curls everso slightly not perfect.
Little slippers on and her rosy cheeks,
taking her time down the stairs that are a struggle for her tiny legs.
Then....its our morning hug, it beats any other feeling.
I then simply wait the whole day to finish so that I may, by the will of God,
see a new morning and hug my love once more.

Repenter I love how you articulated your feelings in this one. It actually brought tears to my eyes. I remember those days when my kids were so little. I loved "rosy cheeks" and how kids always wake up with them no matter what!!!

I love the narrative style
I love the narrative style and images in this one. The mornings there in Ireland and in the UK are especially enchanting. I love the mist! This was also a nice glance into your world, Repenter. I really enjoyed reading it.
