I'm a fussy eater, so?

potato salad, yuck, eeew.
tomatoes in a sandwich
makes me wanna puke.
mushy rice, bloody sick.
praaawns, gimme a bucket quick!
never put too many, spices in a dish,
just stay basic, to keep it so delish.
what's with all the colours, like paint on a palet to be eatin.
no need for all this fuss, undercooked and over heatin.
now I know I may seem hard, to please or even feed,
but simple healthy, basic food is all I really need.
pasta, meat, a Chinese stir, is what I do in enjoy.
home made pizza, apple pie, not delivered by some boy.
another thing I hate, to even look at, is tuna mayonnaise.
mustard, marmite, on a field of rotting grass, I would rather graze.
why? why put pinapple on a pizza? mango chutney on your meat?
a mix like these, I really couldnt bare to think I'd eat.
Liquorice, I'll never understand the lovers of this taste?
perfectly fine wrapping, just all gone to waste!
cranberries, what? just why?
there's other healthy drinks out there, that dont make you cry.
what else, mmm, avocado, in a salad? now there's a reason to go mad.
of all the yucky things to eat, that one's really bad!
all the frills, the spills and thrills of making food look fine,
but whats the point in all that work when the food, it tastes like grime.
fish mousse, chicken jelly, chocolate sauce on duck,
all I can say to that, is YUCK YUCK YUCK!
okay, so now I think I got it all, off my chest and spinning head,
some foods I hate to eat or smell, on or off of bread.
so if you wish to have me over, to enjoy a meal with you,
be aware of my taste, just make some Irish stew.

I totally agree with you

about the liquorice, seriously, it's disgusting! And avocado does look rather like an odd shaped poo...! Very funny and I loved the two lines at the end ♥

hey jewel...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like that about liquorice......however, avocado can be nice when u blitz it in the blender with bananas, couple of strawberries milk and honey (my secret ingredient-teaspoon of smooth peanutbutter)....gives it a kick.
thanks for taking the time to read this silly write and commenting too.
peace

I think I will!

but this time I'd better remember to put the lid on the blender-not like last time! And you're welcome, I love reading silly writes when I'm not feeling so jolly myself :D ♥

ummmmmmmmmm...

Irish stew...yummy! this is just plain cute! a food poem, who woulda thunk? wonderful, humourous read!

lol, thnx...

yeah, I dont think anything can beat Irish stew, especially when made with Irish produce.
thanks 4 commenting, it's always appreciated.

hi repenter

Vaishali: u mind giving me ur recipe of the irish stew? should atleast know the recipe in case you come over!!!!!!!!

hey there vaishali....

the recipe is so simple but at the same time yum yum...:p
basically, it's nice chunks of meat or chicken (meat is better) boiled in its own stock with roughly chopped onions, potato, carrots, broccoli if u like, or any other old healthy veg, let them simmer till the meat falls off the bone, season with thyme, black pepper, salt (I like a tiny addition of garlic to bring out the flavor of the meat!) I should add, this dish can also be cooked in the oven which is soooooo much more yum.
and serve with irish brown soda bread and a fat glass of milk, or any chilled beverage, lol
and there you have it, simple, wholesome grub that keeps you satisfied the whole day.
now, no excuses!...if I come round I want to smell ireland in the air! okay
lol, thanks for commenting vaishali...
take care....peace

hey

Vaishali: that's a real simple recipe. i am going to try it out soon and its healthy too with lots of veggies, and my entire family loves brocoli so i shall add that too. by the way i have a cousin in ireland. he is a big time chef in one of the hotels there..so maybe u can go there some day and taste some indian dishes. ... tks..bye

hehehe....well now u got me....

I did say before that I like simple food, but I dont think anything can really beat a fresh, well made, home cooked curry with japati and biryani.....I also make these foods at home.....I have many asian friends and they have shown me all the little secrets to achieving the perfect indian dish....yum I looooove saag aloo and lamb saag, also onion baji but it depends who makes it,lol
Im so happy that ireland is finally becoming more open minded with food, before 10 years there was no halal takeaways in Ireland, now in dublin, we see more and more places serving indian cuisine, arabic also and chinese....this is all rather new to the irish ppl.....pity though.....a take away there is soooo expensive, one halal kebab with chips and drink can easily cost u 12 euro or more....hot business!
see u round
peace
