watching a sunset
Seems to me there are times
that are more introspective
than other times.
Transitions bring on
ruminations,
spasms of thought,
analysis of what was,
what is, what is to come.
Watching a sunset
the colors as they change,
deepen, expand,
seems to me
thoughts do that
as well.

Split thoughts
I've done that myself, watched a beautiful sunset yet had a totally seperate and wistful mindset. I know your words go much deeper, but i can appreciate them even first read. Good structure for those thoughts, I think.
nice comment
I look at poems and my poems as layers, I have what I was thinking about at the time I wrote it, then the words combine and a reader can take what they want as their own, sometimes there is a general meaning. I like sunset and sun rises, thought and hope. Thanks for reading. raskin

Very apt analogy you have presented here. See, it just ogoes to prove that you're always thinking.

reflections, light in the sky and the mind...
your thoughts have caused my reflections to be heightened, raskin. You are a true poet, in word and thought!

Thanks Joyce,
for the very nice comment, I'm pretty new to this. I wrote years ago and picked it up again in the past few years. I'm trying to find my footing, learning a lot as I read. Trying new things sometime with good effect sometimes not. I'm learning to be less shy. raskin
sunset...
