Sweet things
I stopped at the convenience store and was in a conundrum
which confections to get, Connie was there so I confided in her.
I love sweets, pastries, ice cream, cake, candy.
Standing beside the case gazing at the confections,
conspiring which to consume, contemplating over the containers.
I am conscious of Connie and her consort, the usual conflict,
a confusing confrontation about candy.
They configure and reconfigure arguments,
I see no confluence of conformity for their configuration.
Anyways, I give a congenial smile acknowledging their connection,
but really for me I want to connect with the candy.
Placing a finger on the case, confessing to the concessionaire
the confection I really desire, with a smile he nods.
A concoction of sugar and air, pink, blue and all for you,
he concludes.
Handing me the compound a large cotton candy.
