Summer evening at the fair

I walked up
to the vendor
it was late,
I knew.
Still,
I asked
would you have time,
still,
to make me a cone
of cotton candy?
He said yes,
thrilled I was.
Watching as the threads of sugar
spun faster and faster around,
dizzy,
fibers of sugar
captured
by a paper cone.
It was magic
I watched
the sugar threads,
sweet yarns
for me,
from he.
Handing it to me
I smile
looking at the confection
warm, sticky, delicious.
Admiring its beauty
on a warm
summer
evening
my eyes
shining.

Ah to be yound again

thanks

for reading and commenting ron. This was recent I went to a fair with my kids, had cotton candy. I love to watch it made and then it is a bit warm still much better than in the bag. We share it. It is a wonder to watch the faces around the vendor when he is making the candy. raskin
