reflection
The pond was quiet,
still as glass.
Thinking as I sat there
seeing the clouds,
the color of the sky
in the water.
I picked up my straw
letting out a drop
then another
into the pond.
Observing with each one
ripples
as they extended out
disrupting the reflection
but not
eliminating it.

I just love the contemplation contained in this piece. You have conjured up a wonderful scene and made me melancholy for I no longer have a lake to enjoy like I did as a child.

a kiddie pool works too, then you can cool you feet while drinking lemonade all the while reflecting. Good for a hot day. raskin
Memories - good or bad never
Memories - good or bad never die like the reflection. It may be disturbed but not destroyed. Superb.
Thank you
JagaPriyan for reading and leaving a comment. Sometimes I get lost in the reflection it is interesting to clear my mind that way. raskin
ripples and reflections...
there is ease and quietude in this piece... and the natural connection of being as things are reflected upon it... any slight movement will alter its reflection... just like the way we see things through our very eyes...
good reflection raskin

Thanks clairejane
for the wonderful comment, standing back and looking at what is reflected taking in the whole of the surroundings and watching how it works within the reflection is really cool, making the connection of the surroundings and the reflection, thinking about that its one of my fun little mental excerises I've always done. raskin
wow, raskin, reading your musings...
on reflections after reading your lovely poem amplifies its meaning. You are a very contemplative writer. I will look at reflections differently now in light of your perspective - thanks for sharing this with us.
