Lines criss cross
Thin lines criss cross connecting one point to another.
Each one seems to unite a sequence,
seemingly unrelated circumstances begin to seam together.
A quilt, patched together tracing a pattern
an outline of something more, built square by square.
I watch as it grows from the center out,
looking fragile but so connected,
the strength unbelievable
able to sustain a gale and still hold.
A chain strung together by events,
borders that brushed ever so lightly
without knowledge, still the lines existed.
Traces continue to build faintly
but when the sun hits it at the right angle
I can see the dew on the web and make
out the shape clearly as it dawns.

Oh Yeah
Raskin,
And in my job as a ranger out on a golf course I have encounter some of these builders that made my butt hole pucker. I almost walked into one that has to be a distant cousin of the banana spider. Body the size of a quarter and leg span of about 3 inches. I was afraid I was gonna have to go back and change soiled pants.
Nice piece the way it builds and progresses. Well done.
Pete
there were a few
different ideas I had going with this one. I'm glad you enjoyed the spider aspect. raskin
Maybe a Hint
Raskin,
Perhaps you could give me a hint of what I was missing in this piece.
Pete
I have
my own personal read when I write something. In everything I write even the funny stuff there is my own private layer. I am glad you saw the spider that part was fun. There is a whole connectedness in life that I see. raskin
I See
I just got hung up on the literal meaning and not the big picture.
I try
not always succeeding in writing on three levels, personal, literal, metaphor. This is a continual learning process that I enjoy sometimes I hit, sometimes I miss but I enjoy the trying more than anything. raskin
Curious
Raskin,
I was just wondering if you have read my piece called "Social Climbing Ivy"? In that piece I tried to word it co that it could have multiple meanings. Check it out and see if you find that I was successful or not.
