Harvest moon
Autumns first cool night,
the harvest moon hung low
glowing amber
I saw the eagles shadow
pass across the moon
slowly,
looking,
for what
I didn't know.
My eyes followed
as the eagle
slid
into the darkness
stars glittered,
held on his back,
as he continued to glide
appreciating, I,
intangible
feelings
still, I sat
watching.

a lot of times I write what I see and give it a little twist. There is usually something personal in there somewhere. Eagles are pretty cool to watch, opportunistic, intense predators, relentless in their search, flying so high. They are easy for me to write about. I did like your eagle poem by the way even reading it again. raskin
