first bubble
In his hand he held something special
he grinned at me,
opening his hand to show me,
his smile became broader.
I looked in his hand
it was a package of bubble gum.
I laughed, we sat together,
the two of us.
He started to open his piece,
handing one to me.
I said to him,
you know,
I'm obnoxious with this.
He said to me,
I know.
We both smiled as we popped
the gum in our mouths, chewing,
loudly, mouth open, clicking the gum.
It was watermelon good.
Chewing some more
I blew a big bubble, looked at him.
It popped, I chewed some more.
As I watched him work that gum
he blew a big bubble, then it burst.
He laughed and high fived me,
it was his first bubble.

your comment made me laugh. It was so much fun to see my sons excitement over blowing a bubble. For me it is fun to remember those simple triumphs. I wrote this for him, he smiled and laughed when he read it, I love to hear him laugh. raskin

now that is funny. It's fun to write gross out stuff sometimes. On occasion I do like being obnoxious. I joke with my kids they're being raised by a ten year old. raskin

It was like I was sitting there watching and listening to chewing and blowing of bubbles. No more training wheels for him, he can blow!
