I trace the line with my finger,
it wasn't drawn,
but etched
by time,
experience.
I thought about the grooves
as I touched each one
simple stuff really.
Creases around the eyes
reminding me of days in the sun.
I wasn't there but I can see.
Bringing a smile to my mouth
and to his as well.
Fascinated by his face
I watched as the crinkles extended out,
some were deep,
some fine
together
showing the joy that was there
for that moment.
