Clouds of despair run about free
As droplets of tears fall around me.
Overwhelming sadness crushed my heart
The darkness closed in, tearing me apart
I wept as the brutal wind cut into my soul
Forming a void so huge and so deep
It left me gasping for air to fill the deepening hole,
And the remains of my heart in a ruined heap.
I shivered and deplored in the bitter night
Gone is the warm cloak of love and hope I held tight!
As the gloomy shadows engulf their prey
I implore the darkness for a flicker of the sun,
Would it melt the clouds and clear the sky?
Or would the lurid darkness finally have won?
