Don't Take Me For Granted!

Beautiful blue Globe
Unique Jewel to treasure
Let’s keep it that way.

The Bleeding Thorn

Warm, golden sunlight rarely shone
Upon that solitary thorn;
Red velvet petals are all gone,
They wilted as soon as they were born.

Black storm clouds gathered o’erhead

Satan's Century

Pivotal year, 1914,
The likes of which we had never seen,
Slaughter and mayhem on the World scene -
A colossal jolt to human kind.

Apocalyptic page unfurled

Blue Dragonfly

A streak of blue lightning
Across a babbling brook
Takes me unawares
The moment that I look
Past pastures of green
And dandelions of gold,
My attention is fixed
On this insect so bold.

The Butterfly Catcher

Her Chrysalis cracked
And pure rays of gold
Poured through the thin
Grey shell-like mould;
A fluid rapidly pumped
Through tiny veins,
Feeding a fragile form
Struggling in pains.

Months Of Jealousy

January was feeling sad
For February is much better
Less chance of deep snow
Although the weather's wetter.

February was unhappy
For in March spring would start
Causing sweet thoughts

Heart Warming

All is not doom and gloom
No matter what the papers say;
Acts of love and kindness abound
Like shafts of sunlight amid the grey.

“Every cloud has a silver lining”

Cup of Coffee

Swirling slowly
Like a spiralling
Galaxy,
Creamy circles
Spin round
And round
At the slightest turn
Of my spoon.

Frothy Comets
And Planets
And Pulsars

Tell Me More About You

Tell me more about you,
What’s your name, where do you belong?
Did your mother sing a lullaby?
Did she kiss you to sleep with a song?

I hold you in the palm of my hand

LOVE NOTES

Does your love write notes
On the bathroom mirror in the steam?
Messages of affection
That will not fade as a dream?

Does your love leave little notes
On the car seat in the drive,

Beautiful Inside

Appearances can be deceptive
And, to the superficial gaze,
The outside seems dull and grey
Plain looking in many ways
Yet, when a crack causes
Water to seep slowly through,

A Plain Piece of Paper

I’m a plain piece of paper
Resting in your warm hand,
Wondering what you will make of me,
Something small, or something grand?
Will I be a little white rose
To bloom, but never to die?

The Fragility of Tranquillity

Strolling along the river
I saw beauty at every turn,
I sensed a sweet serenity
As my heart did truly burn.

Birds were flying carefree
High up in the clear blue,

An Extraordinary Friendship

Source of inspiration: A Get Well Card.

There happened to be an Elephant with purple skin
Which caused many a little child to laugh or to grin,

Her Smile Makes Me Smile

Whenever I feel sad
And life’s troubles wear me down
I just look upon her face
And no longer wear a frown.

Whenever the cold rain
Pours upon parched ground
