What words, what phrases
Are at hand for my use!
Such a spectrum of expressions
Can be freely let loose.
A splash of love, a hint of hate,
A dash of pure romance,
And just a tincture of fear
Will each poem enhance.

Here, from my paper palette
A wealth of feelings can be read
In simple verse, or profound prose,
Thoughts of my heart and head.
Subtle shades of meaning
Migrate from mind to pen;
As I paint a vivid word picture
