I Dreamed Him Up

I dreamed him up.
The person I thought
He was isn't real.
He exists in my mind.
He's killing me softly
Stabbing me in the back.
Gently coaxing me into the knife,
Whispering my name.
Coming closer to my dying soul,
Reaching me just in time.
Just in time to sniff the life out of me.
As I breathe my last,
All my thoughts are of you.
Your face,
And that place,
All the memories we once held dear.
All the pain you left.
The pain that won't receed.
Then there's the blood that flows
From the wound in my back.
The wound that never fades.
In the end,
Your all the same.
I'm left to dwell in the pain.
Never sleep,
Never die,
Until tonight.

Wow

The imagery in this poem is so powerful. It is beautifully written.
