REFLECTIONS
When I was young I gave no thought
to what tomorrow just might bring
or why when looking at open skies
my heart would start to sing
I never cared for yesterday
or any penny spent
on friends that I might care about
or times of discontent
All I ever wanted
was to just go out and play
and when I was asked what I wanted to be
I never knew what to say
I never questioned who I was
or what I ever felt
and all I ever asked of life
was to let me be myself
Well I'm older and wiser now
or so I often think
I worry about tomorrow
and what it just might bring
I find myself so bothered
about every dollar spent
and all the friends that owe me
and money that's been lent
At times I get so saddened
when looking back at life
and all the things I could have been
if I just put up more fight
but now and then I see myself
as that little boy inside
and when I think how smart he was
I just try not to cry

can often be a good thing. I found this encouraging. I enjoy your poems. Please, can you add some punctuation, i'm sure it will increase the impact. Cheers. :-)
