Who gave this man such power
to steal my very heart
while falling ever helplessly
prey to his loving art
which mastered me so gently
yet never took away
the gift of self he'd offer
just to brighten up my day

In memories I sought him
his bright eyes ever still
always waiting patiently
in time my heart to fill
still wrapped in dreams and hopes
sweet times I would remember
and given choice I'd have to say
