A thank you cake, it was delivered today,
Called Mudd, it came on a round plastic tray.

Chocolate icing all around, a nutty fudge topping.
Someone didn’t cook, probably went shopping.

I had to stop working, I just couldn't wait,
That cake looked so good, absolutely first rate.

I opened the clear cover, smelled the sweet fudge,
Chocolate and nuts, there's only one way to judge.

I'm sure it’ll be scrumptious, very delicious,
But nothing there will be very nutritious.

Should I eat this cake with sweet chocolate paste,
It would surely go and make a home on my waist.

Could I eat it? Should I eat it? Would I be strong,
To refrain from eating this cake for which I so long?

I could no longer be still and so grabbed a fork,
I just didn't care if someone called me a pork.

The cake was so soft and it looked very moist,
From the plate to my mouth, the cake I did hoist.

As soon as the morsel, my mouth did enter,
The cake did excite my brain's pleasure center.

The fudge in my mouth, my tongue did swirl,
The sweetness so rich, my toes did curl.

I swallowed the first, prepared a second.
My conscience then called, me it beckoned.

"Wait," it said, "think about cavities, fat on your belly!"
"Do you want to be toothless, have a body like jelly?"

Well I do not, 'cause for my health I do care.
I want my body to last, not needing repair.

I stopped the eating and put the fork down,
I left the cake happy, I didn't scowl nor frown.

Two minutes later, I came back for a glance,
There the cake lured, wrapped me in a trance.

Another bite so delicious I just couldn't avoid,
But I said to myself, more than a bit annoyed,

Have to run or jog for a hour or two,
Burn off the fat, else lard will accrue.
