The Ephemeral And The Light

When space limits time
And time limits space
All that I'll see
Is what's nearest my face

The brightest light set as my goal
I'll pray that meaning fills the hole
But how far can i see?
Is it all that i could ever be?

Change is born of time
And time must live through change
These lights that shine a river
Flow in constant disarrange

But now I'm made an offer
Of immortality
Time no longer limits
My possibilities

I could see it all
And have time to find the best
I could find the brightest light
And outshine all the rest

I could put time in check
Through space i could roam free
I could search the universe
But would i find entirety?

With everything prepared
And nothing uncompared
Would it matter if i fall?
Or if i even shine at all?

Nothing is truly infinite
So the reverse must be the same
To have it all for nothing
Would bring not pleasure nor pain

But if all that i have time for
Is all I'll ever see
Then finding even the dimmest light
Would mean something to me

So ephemeral stays my face
My meaning forged by time and space
A light appears in front of me
It's all i ever want to see
