Symphony Of Sorrow
All the tears I cried for you
Have dried up like sand,
And even though I miss you
I kind of understand...
For this symphony of sorrow
That my soul somehow did paint
Has started to fade away
Its melody, now faint.
The sorrow that my heart felt
Has started to disappear,
And I no longer fall to bits
Knowing your no longer here.
Its not that I dont love you still
For deep in my heart I do,
But now when I wake up each day
My thoughts are not of you.
You were the only symphony
That my heart could ever play,
The man that I loved intensely,
Yet the one, who walked away.
Within my every wistful dream
I would search for you in vain,
Waking up in tears...
Wanting to be with you again.
It still hurts deep down inside me
And reflection comes and goes,
But Im no longer portraying sadeness
Perhaps my heart now knows....
That I have released the worst of
My symphony of sorrow,
And im beginning to let you go...
And brave a new tomorrow.

Symphony of sorrow
David o Whalen
Nice cogent, well thought out poem! the rhyme is unforced and the overall flow is great. A welcome change on these pages.

Thankyou David :)
Beautifully written
tis a shame such well written words have been born from such sadness. Nevertheless, it has a depth of feeling to it, which is a rare gem found whilst perusing the poems on this site lately.

Nikoshiana,
Your poetry is moving. I am sure we have all experienced this type of love lost. Your art is beautiful!
