A Summer Song of Love
Bird songs sweet through windows, drift
Like my restless dreams that lift
Me from this cold wretched place
As the morning hours race
So through my window, quickly steer
And to this lonely life, adhere
Please raise me from the Winter gloom
Of my dark and dismal room
And to this sad heart, you shall send
A Summer song of love again.

great write
I know... it's so sad, yet so true. Seems like you been peaking in my window. HA HA. Great write.
It wasn't me, I swear, Lynett!
LOL. Kidding aside, I have been just a wee bit depressed since I left my friends behind in South Florida, when I moved and this inspired this gloomy poem.
funny huh
Funny how the idea of moving to a new place sends visions of excitement & adventure to your eyes. Yet after all is said & done, that familiar feeling of freedom & support is gone. Starting over is great, yet overwhelming. I too moved & am reminising like crazy, but, I don't regret it bc I will make the best of it, as should you. Friends & family are but a phone call away. Goodluck in future endeavors.
Well Done Randy
Splendid write, the flow and rhyme along with choice of words made it all come together as a as type of poem which I particularly enjoy reading. Thanks for sharing

Thanks, RRJ
Glad you liked my poem!
Good stuff
Kinda different from some of your others I've read. Great meter and flow and very romantic. Good stuff.
Thank you, Neocon!
Yeah, I'm a different mindset since I moved back to the Boston area. Hopefully, I'll have more quality time to write poetry now. Thank you for your kind words.

Summer Song
This is great! As with songs, depending on our mood, they can either make us sad or, uplift us. This was the latter.
Thank you, Poetmaster!
Glad you liked my poem. This was the first poem I wrote after my move. I was feeling down so I wrote something to try and feel better.
