Diamonds of the Sea
Diamonds, diamonds of the sea
Sparkling on the waves
Shining there for you and me
They know what my heart craves.
Gemstones of the salty breeze
Kissed by sunlight's rays
This lonely heart, they gently tease
Like spirits, they amaze.
If I could pluck them from the sea
These sparks that never tire
I'd gladly make of them for thee
A bracelet of ocean fire.
And you could wear it then for me
Sweet mistress of the shore
These diamonds, diamonds of the sea
Shining forevermore.

Glad you enjoyed my poem! I have been making an effort to make my new poems rhyme with stanzas. I notice that in a lot of your poems!
a gem!
Quality write. Especially like the line..."a bracelet of ocean fire."
Thank you, Poetmaster!
Thanks for your kind words! I wanted to give this the feel of a poem written in the 18th or 19th century. Really enjoy that kind of poetry. This was inspired by sunlight sparkles that I saw on a pond as I was taking a walk.
