And no, I'm not a democrat; I'm an independent, and I hate our two party system. But the far right fascist wing has taken over the elephants and driven the country to shit. Do you want more war? You can't blame everything on Bush, Congress has been run by democrats for the last two years and we're still fucked.But I am glad to have a forum were we can all speak our opinions. U STUPID Piece of Shit

Yesterday, a redneck hero endorsed Obama.
His name is Junior Johnson: the original NASCAR hero from here in NC. (Way before Richard Petty's time).
He started out as a moonshine runner in the area my Father's people came from: North Wilkesboro, NC.
The movie "Thunder Road" with Robert Mitchum is basically his story.
So now, the good old boys have permission from one of their chieftains to vote Obama without considering themselves traitors to their lifestyle.
Just google "Junior Johnson endorses Obama" and read Junior's letter.

As to Obama not being born a citizen. that ranks up there with Sarah Palin is the love child of Gilligan and Mary Anne (and don't tell me you haven't noticed the resemblance between the physicallity of Mary Anne and the intellectual gifts of Gilligan)

First off... This peice was great. I always love it when political views are expressed logically for all to see, even if others don't always agree. Also, the shared bitch rants between you two have been more entertaining than this past election season. and p.s. note: you tube kicks ass, have you not watched I'm Fucking Matt Damon? Anywho, I am an Independent as well, although I do not fully agree with what Obama has to say, I fully disagree with just about everything McBush has to say. If he wins, let us all hope he avoids eating pretzles while enjoying the next Super Bowl.

I have read more of your work NSF and have to say, your writing is amazing. Your craft is brilliant and unique, though, with my hatred for all Bush Lovers and McBush Lovers alike, I like this one best. I love the fact that this “Free World” has reached the point to where those of us who disagree with the mass majority are referred to as unintelligent and lazy. Break the fucking chains that hold your creativity and freedom of speech and use the brain God gave you to think for yourself. This, to Unknown and the rest of the conservative stereotypes who believe themselves better than the rest of us.

For all it's worth...

First off, thanks to everyone who read and commented on this poem. It's not one I ever intended to write, but the way McCain sold his soul to the Rovil, and the way his campaign went, made me upset enough to write something like this. Now I could stoop down to the level of many conservatives and brag and rub faces in shit, but I'm not going to do that. Let's give the new president and congress a chance to fix things. Hopefully this election is the final nail in the coffin of the flawed "me first" idelology of conservatism.

To my buddy McMongrel, who is one of the best poets on this site IMHO, thanks for your hard work in NC. Congrats on knocking the Dole out!

To Unknown, I'm not of the Vietnam era, but I have relatives who served. If there were a war, like WW2, worth fighting, I'd go. I would have loved to debate with you; however, you went into the whole Fox News, finger pointing, name calling thing. You showed true ignorance. If you did in fact serve in Vietnam, I thank you for your service. But it's a well-known fact amongst those in the know that McCain exaggerated his experience. He IS A FRAUD. I have nothing but contempt for him and his campaign. And as for cursing, my family's from NYC. I knew my fucks before my ABCs. That's the way WE talk. If you don't like it, too bad. Don't go there or associate with someone from there if it offends you so much. I put a warning label on this piece, so you knew what you were getting. Besides, they're just words; go listen to George Carlin to learn more about their usage. And sorry, Vietnam and Iraq aren't about "supporting freedom," it's about American Imperialism. The kind we need to stop. I feel nothing but sympathy for all the troops and innocent civilians and their families that suffered or died needlessly in those conflicts.
