Leap of Faith
Withdrawn, I looked to the wind to guide me,
Not even feeling me since I've grown empty,
If nothing else can carry me free,
Then I've lost all life inside of me,
The breeze danced on gently past the moon,
Knowing the darkness would follow soon,
Standing there between the ledge and the sky,
I threatened "God" to tell me why,
Leaving without an answer I walked away,
As the ledge I stood on cried for me to stay,
Walking down amongst the pitch black night,
Already lost, but no direction turns out right,
I just followed the sound of the rivers cries,
And soon there it was, faithfully by my side,
Kneeling down I hoped to see a face,
But the darkness was there taking it's place,
Already passed the point of feeling the cold,
I stood in the water waiting for it to take hold,
Standing there as it just moved by,
It too could sense that my existance is a lie,
So I took a swim, hoping an answer would be found,
But not even the water would allow me to drowned,
So I packed up my regrets and all of my sorrow,
And continued on way, searching for tomorrow,
When all of a sudden there was warmth on my neck,
The sun laying apon this lifeless wreck,
I started to walk away from the taunting sun,
To find myself right back to where I had come from,
Taking another look down off this ledge where I was born,
Without a will to fight back, the journey had left me worn,
Knowing that I had forever found my place,
I spread my wings, and took my leap of faith.
