Wishing you were still here
On this earth makes me hurt
Dying inside slowly
Time is racing
Wanting to say I love you again
But knowing that I can't see you
or feel your cold hands
or your wrinkled skin
Makes me want to fall asleep
into a deep deep sleep
and go into a fairytale
follow the path to your chair
sit on your lap and say
I love you great grandma
Knowing it was time for you
when that phone call came in
Scared to death on the way
to say goodbye to you
but knowing it was for the best
wishing it didn't have to end
the way it did but knowing
that one day in my sleep
in my deep sleep
at the chair in the fairytale

Just recently
I just lost my great grandmother at the age of 91. She passed away in her sleep, on May 16th of that morning. i got a phone call from my mother telling me that my father got a phone call saying that great grandma passed. She was fighting a stroke but what took her was a heart attack. When I saw her for the last time, she was only 50 lbs. and she didn't look like the great grandma that I knew. I miss her dearly and absoultely loved her. I was her angel and now she is my angel :)
