Who am i in You,Christ?

They say if you give up kingdoms,
you inherit the eternal one.
And I ,a poor woman had none to give

I accepted the agape love,
did not hesitate...just a few years for what are a couple of years to the author of timelessness,i thought.

That year..a silent seed was sown..something..perhaphs a light,it wavered but burnt faithfully to dispel the darkness within, for tho the light was faint,it was enough to tear the darkness apart.

The light began exposing the dust and the grime collected over a period of time...there were traces of hatred built to a solid mould, envy in some corner, rancour unfolded, languishing in wait for revenge..mockery...a feelin..a thought tho fleeting had covered deep recesses....

As the light pierced thru the grime ,one treasure after another burnt down...Oh those treasures i had collected over the years had built kingdoms within.

I moaned in anguish and found myself saying..

"have your way LORD!"

Deprived of those things i had called my own..robbed of every possession,i stood exposed yet glad that the liight had touched my soul...
bereft of my kingdom, position, pride, name, language, creed I stand and ask...

Who am I in You ,Christ?

i hear a gentle voice within me say

"you are the apple of my eyes"

This is true......

I think we all have dust, cob webs and mold in the deepest corners of our hearts but giving His life for our sins created a clean sweep of those dark corners. I had the hardest time forgiving myself for past sins ..... then I realized, all has been forgiven by the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ himself .......Am I better than him to not forgive myself, I still have to remind myself. All have sinned and came short of the glory of God and There is not a righteous man on the face of the earth who has not sinned. These 2 verses have given me strength and hope. This piece got me to thinking ..thank you Mimi

Thank you Unknown legend...this poem is close to my heart...yes, it is sometimes important to let go of whole lot of things that begin to hinder your faith walk...once forgiven...its a clean slate....

RE: Who am i in You,Christ?

An interesting piece; most Christians struggle with understanding their "identity in Christ"; so know that you're not alone, in that regard; keep pressing through and developing your poetry. --Joe B.

Logic, when applied to people, fails miserably. --Joseph J. Breunig 3rd
