life
She sat under a peach tree in the dark
listening to the sound of the stream flowing by.
A flicker here, a flicker there of hamlets strewn across the dark hills she could see...
it was so peaceful and cool...
just the faint sound of crickets making their evening call...
"life is idyllic ",she thought to herself.

Yes; well said. You have one looooong line. Is that a formatting accident, or the way you wrote it? Seems too long to me. But the message, a wonderful sense of awareness and appreciation. As Mary Oliver has said, "learn to love the world."

I like the line about the flickering hamlets...
they suggest the twinkling lights of houses seen from afar with the accompanying music of crickets chirping. Very nice, mimi.
