just a face

That day i saw him stand by the brook
pain and anguish in his look
a face scarred by inner tragedy...and yet when i skipped and missed a step
fell headlong into the stream
the man jumped in to help me out
this kindness in his heart i saw
that made beautiful his outer flaw
each scar like a battle wound i see..
in each mark a beautiful victory..
and then i see him by the brook..
something different i see in his look..
a face scarred by inner tragedy
a face so beautiful to me
