The Flame in my Heart
I can remember, tho it seems a long time
When the peaceful rolling lakelands
Stood forever sublime.
But a sweeping storm came creeping in
And the sprouting crops blew clean away.
The rose that I'd grown
Seemed somewhat unknown,
As she left my life without delay.
I waited so long though the misty mirks
I tried to capture all my flaws
Just like my random quirks.
Would I see you again across the medows
In that enchanting tainted dress.
Would you give a chance
Or did you pity me in advance
Before you left my life in this mess.
And I burned for you
The flame in my heart
From the very depths of my life.
But you tore it out
And extinguished me
Before scattering with a knife.
Please tell me where to go,
The wilderness seems so very high.
I do not share love for company
Just the days until I die.
What a flame it was, lit hand in hand
As we sniggered into glory
And into promised land.
But why did you deny your love for me
And commend me to the grave.
So sick from your lie
But men do not cry
We have to stand tall and brave.
And I wish the night could talk,
And guide me though the pain.
Theres a healing process help deep within
That brings the sunshine from the rain.
And I burned for you
The flame in my heart
From the very depths of my life.
But you tore it out
And extinguished me
Before scattering with a knife.
Please tell me where to go,
The wilderness seems so very high.
I do not share love for company
Just the days until I die.
