Gardeners are Psychopaths
Gardeners Are Psychopaths
Mark Pearce (c) 2009
Gardeners are natural psychopaths.
They love the beautiful butterfly
While hating the infantile larvae.
They cherish the out of doors
While seeking to break it to their will.
They love rabbits and turtles and squirrels
As long as they’re on someone else’s patch.
Tally reader.
These are not simple preferences I’m recounting
But a listing of traits underlying
Intense and intractable rage.
Many beheadings have occurred because
A strawberry looks just as good to a turtle
As it does to the gardener of two minds.

Really nice Mark
Aww...I'm just sitting here thinking of the cute little turtle and that strawberry...you are so right! He should be able to admire and eat that berry just like us!!! OMG I love this poem!
Thanks for the nice Sunday morning read Mark! :)

We have the murder weapon
Thanks Linda.
I had my Dad in mind when I wrote this. That kind hearted man could do serious damage with a hoe when his strawberries were attacked.

Cayenne pepper for bunnies is good
I'm one of those psycho gardeners but I don't like bunnies at all. I have snakes which help, eagles fly over and I watch those bunnies run. Deer stay out of my yard. I had to laugh when I read this. raskin
Rabbits and eagles and snakes...oh my.
Thanks Rask --
I can tell from your short response that you're very into the many interrelationships involved in co-exiting with nature. Most people can't cultivate the love for snakes.
I like you already!
