Witches of Smyrna:Katena

Her home was burnt down
reduced to nothing but dust
ashes to ashes
as the soldiers would march.

Spinning the wheel,
it took a sad turn.
A maissa's fait...

to burn.

Dressed in flames she dances,
Katena the black .
With melting eyes she glances
as she fades into the dark.

Smyrna,mother of witches,
now city of the dead.
raped your pride,
your ground stained red.

Favored daughters, now just names carved on stone.
Except for one,a body was gone.

Witnessed was a face of coal,
beneath the veil of the smoke
sign to them all
that something wicked had awoke.

And some lost their lives
but more their minds.
Haunted forever by the most hollow eyes.

To this day,they say
that you must be aware...

because Katena might appear in your nightmare.

Hey!To all my readers

I'm planning to write some poems inspired by greek folklore and ghost stories, this piece was originally written in greek, but I decided to upload it in english and try to make it rhyme.Anyways,if you like it plz comment and if you don't well...do whatever.I just wanna say that I'm sick of people ignoring my posts, not like I want the attention, but it pisses me off badly when I am anxious o find out what people think of my work and they just ignore me.Oh,and if the problem is the dark poetry theme, well not all of my poems are dark poetry and wtf you think is dark poetry anyway? You think I kill ppl and write about it?Hell no.

that's all.

This site...

in my humble opinion is for sharing one's work and if someone comments great but I wouldn't expect it; besides who knows about poetry anyway, certainly not me. I know what I like and don't like and try to keep an open mind. I suspect most readers read, enjoy, question, and move on without posting a comment. There is a site geared more to giving critical comments than this one, try Neopoet.com. Also, if you want raw feedback try the link above "Our Critical Poetry Forum". But this is not to suggest you should stop posting here.

witches

cool write, i look forward to more of your poems about witches. i like folklore and think it's terrible what happened in europe with all the witchhunts, etc.; however, i have a morbid fascination with all things demon, ghost, and witch, and can't get enough of reading about that stuff.

Witches of Smyrna....

Katena was always my fav so I like the fact that you start with her story. Will you write about Sophia or Marigo, next?I love their stories even if they are less scary compared to Katena's.
Anyway,how is J?

yours insincerely

I'm not sure if I'll continue writing...

Anyway,J is fine...she started drawing again and eats, that's the most important.
