You Just Don't Know

Back in the day... you knew
Just what a man was about
If you should get with him
Or take another route.

You could look at the parents
To tell if he was any good
Know where you would live
In a mansion, condo, or the hood.

Now-a-days... times are different
Men are not the same
Don't know what it is they want
Or if they are playing games.

Some may be psycho
Some try to keep control
Some try to use you
& some aren't so bold.

Sure he doesn't have to be ugly
But atleast up to par
Sure hope he has aggression
But some take it too far.

Boy... you just don't know
Who you gone to get
A murderer, a thug, or a genius
Or a dog... no not the pet.

I... for one... want a man
Who atleast have a job
Don't rely on me for money
Or his parents like a snob.

When it comes to men
Man... you just don't know
If he has no benefits
Then he's got to go.

you got it right gal

Loved the line about the dog.The first poem I put in her was titled The Dog.I liked this one.
