Who Would Have Thought

I carried him all those months.
Took care of him all those years.
Who would've thought... my son.
Would bring me to all those tears.

He came to me with a plan.
A plan with actions to manipulate.
Who would've thought... his mother.
Was the meal on the plate.

I had to go & intercede his plan.
For my job as a mother said so.
He had to understand I was in charge.
This is something... he had to know.

Well... that day... he taught me something.
For apparently, I knew not.
No matter what my plan was.
Who would've thought... the answer I got.

My son lied to me.
Had nerves to look me in the eye.
Step to me as an enemy.
He didn't give me a reason why.

Why he felt I was wrong?
Why my decision couldn't stick?
Why belitter his mother like that?
Why... this choice... he picked?

No matter what my answer was.
As my child... it should stand.
He should've listened right up front.
No puffing up to me like a man.

Who would've thought... my son.. my son.
Would seek to put a hand o me.
Seek to harm me in any way.
Give his mother a quilty plea.

Yes, I had to stand firm.
Stick with it ... no matter what.
Afterall, two more was within reach.
I had to stay firm to the gutt.

So I stood up to my son.
It hurt that it came to that.
I felt so low at that point.
But I stood there & didn't look back.

Now, I look back & all I see.
Is my mistakes through the years.
If I had taken control sooner.
My eyes wouldn't have so many tears.

I know now what I must do.
From this situation that was brought.
An ugly vision for a mother to see.
My son... who would have thought.

Your not alone and ya know

Your not alone and ya know its not that your son had a plan. Someone truly evil does however and your son is just another victim of the last days. This generation is described at 2 Timoty 3:1-4 but God also has a plan Daniel 2:44.

thanks

Thanks so much for the heads-up. Very inspiring when responses come from the word which is where I base my faith. Oh... I don't have kids yet. This poem was based on my co-worker's life. Would love to pass it on to her, but lost contact over the years. Thanks again.
