Where Were You
Sitting at home waiting on you
My man, my husband, my boo
Suddenly I heard a loud noise
I'm excited... I think it's you.
To my suprise, it isn't
But a stranger in my house
My excitement is now fear
Like a cat gives a mouse.
He is getting, getting closer
Now his hands around my neck
His breathe penetrating my skin
Like a bomb, we hit the deck.
I'm trying to stream... "stop... stop"
But I'm pinned down so hard
What's that from behind his back
Oh no... It's a cord.
What is he going to do to me
My thoughts are so confused
Then he starts to have his way
Oh no... I'm being abused.
Why is he doing this to me
To him... what did I do
That answer, to me, he would not give
So I'm wondering... why and who.
Minutes later, he's finished with me
I cried so much... I'm sick
I realized now I've been raped
Obviously by a lunatic.
In a flash, he's gone
But my fear is not relieved
My body is aching oh so bad
The pain I can't believe.
All of a sudden... I heard a noise
He's back, so I grabbed a stick
He's getting closer & closer now
I swung and started to kick.
"It's me boo... it's me"
My man said out loud
He quickly turned on the light
And looked at me so proud.
"So you really missed me, huh
I missed you too", he said
Slowly walked over to me
Tried to escort me to the bed.
Tears were pouring off my face
My body shaking so bad
The terror seen in my eyes
My face appearing so sad.
"What's wrong honey... sweet p
What's up with the tears
Please tell daddy what's wrong
How can I ease your fears."
"Where were you, honey boo
When someone was taking my stuff
He used me like a beanbag
& yes he was really rough."
"I'm sorry honey... oh... so sorry
Tell me who could it be"
"You would know if you were here
Here... taking care of me."
"Move, get away, let me go
You left me all alone
I had to fight for myself
Thank God the enemy's gone."
"I'm sorry boo", he kept saying
I'm sorry he was rough
I'm sorry I was not here"
"But sorry isn't enough."
"Now I have to cope with this
Luckily I got God by my side
You... boo... do what you do best
Get out, go run and hide."

Rough Stuff
This rhyme sends images of real trauma in time. It totally caaptures betrayal.
Its sad but its very well expressed.
You right. It does
You right. It does emphasize betrayal alot. You would think the most anger would penetrate more on the attacker rather than the mate. Sometimes, it ends up like that. Thanks for the comment.
