The Best Father

THE BEST FATHER
There is a man, on this earth, who has the honor of a king
Sometimes it might not look that way, but you can always trust in him,
He’s righteous right down to the care, and just as moral as they come
A blueprint for perfection and is loved completely by his sons.
He reared us with authority as love glimmered in his eyes
He made us better people through his constant discipline and pride,
At times, we used to think that our dad was punishing us harder
Then the other kids around, but only we had the best father.

The Best Mother

THE BEST MOTHER
There is a woman you could know, if you are lucky
Compassion is her forte, even if she is angry.
Now that I know her better, then when I was a kid
I see the reasons that she had for everything she did.
Though when I was a kid, I never saw it that way
All I ever saw was her retribution every day.
With age comes understanding, unlike any other
To know the fact, that I now see, I have the best mother.

Giging

In the concert hall

Fans holler for their heroes.

Exhausted, Happy.

Christmas Night 2005

CHRISTMAS NIGHT 2005
Such a monolithic lightshow
Nature’s power on display,
With a raucous clap of thunder
And the night turns into day.
A torrential fall of water
Ground’s now sodden under toes,
It’s a reoccurring cycle
Becoming worse as it grows.

My Explanation

MY EXPLANATION
You always say I’m negative
Well, I guess it’s obvious,
That I’m always apprehensive
And my writings, tentative,
They are only what I’m thinking
Every minute of each day,
That humanity is sinking
Please show me the other way.

Just Dream Away

JUST DREAM AWAY
Have you ever just lain in a field?
And stared off to the sky,
Saw the clouds above as something else
And become mesmerized.
Well, that’s the ultimate in freedom
Daydreaming all alone,
Lost in your own imagination
When you are fully grown.

It's Just A Job

IT’S JUST A JOB
*POLICE*
Protect and serve and investigate,
Reveal the proof to incarcerate,
Face the danger to alleviate
Your fears and concerns, still you hate,
When you call for help, and we don’t show
‘Till some time later, cause troops are low,
Saying we can’t help it, troops won’t grow
‘Cause it’s just a job, you’ve got to know.

I Hate 2 (I love)

I LOVE (I HATE 2)

I love when nobility
Appears in common man,
Making generosity
Come from another hand.
I love when sincerity
Is truthful and heart-felt,
When superiority
Does not care what you’re dealt.

I Hate

I HATE

I hate when dishonesty
Changes the way we act.
When civil security
Is something we take back?
I hate insincerity
I cannot tell a lie,
And I hate humanity
Cause all is on the sly.

Heroism vs. Altruism

HEROISM VS. ALTRUISM
A man outnumbered one on two
Is mistakenly beaten,
Another man makes two to two.
They won bloodied but weakened.
A woman with a newborn child
Tries to wheel her shopping home,
A man tattooed with eyes so wild
Aids her, so she’s not alone.

Now I ask, is there really a schism?
Heroism verses altruism!

Insomnia

***INSOMNIA***

One night alone has left him scarred
His dreams, for now, have all been barred,
Sleep is gone he’s wide-awake
This unreal realm is not a fake,
It’s stolen thoughts, his memories
Construes perception of all he sees,
It drains him low no more he sleeps
An unknown enigma rose from the deep.

Deep in the mind there lies a place
Where endless thoughts seem to race,
Baffles the mind, creates the real
Choice of sleep seems so surreal.

Families' Loss

FAMILIES' LOSS
Standing in these potholes
that are deeper than we thought,
Hoping that we've got souls
for this war just must be fought.
To fall and lose our life force

Snow

SNOW

Blanketed terrain,

The purest of virgin white,

Ice formed into flakes.

Dread and Strength

DREAD AND STRENGTH
Dread: - Do I really have to go?
Strength: - There’s no way I can say no.
Dread: - I reluctantly, get shoes.
Strength: - I bound down the steps in twos.

How Heroic Can A Stranger Be?

HOW HEROIC CAN A STRANGER BE?
The sun sets, as she locks the door and closes up the place
Inside her car, she turns the key and backs out of her space,
